This guide will provide you with a starting place for doing research on formal linguistics, psycholinguitsics, sociolinguistics, and langauge studies.

The content is divided into the following sections:

Encyclopedias & Other Reference Sources: Print and online encyclopedias, atlases, and handbooks provide a way to learn about the background of major ideas in linguistics and can help you to quickly identify areas of interest to you for furtehr research. Also helpful for identifying important texts in the discipline.

Find Articles: Suggested library article databases for locating scholarly articles in the various subfields of linguistics. Not all of the sources are full-text.

Web Sites: A short list of significant web sites in the fields as well as links to associations and organization concerned with the study of linguistics and teaching of linguistics.
