Students Studying Abroad: A Library Guide

Getting help

There are a variety of ways to get help from the UVM Libraries while abroad.  Have a question?  Please ask us!

Search the UVM Libraries' E-Book Collection

1) Search in the Classic Library Catalog.

2) Click on the Guided Keyword tab to get to the keyword search screen.

3) Enter your search terms.

4) Click the pull-down menu to limit by LOCATION --> select: E-Books.

5) Press: Search.

NOTE: To access an e-book, FIRST make sure you are set up for remote access to library resources(see instructions on right).

Need a book section from the UVM Libraries?

*** The UVM Libraries Interlibrary Loan Department WILL create PDFs and electronically send you selected chapters from books that we own, while you are studying abroad. ***

Note: UVM Libraries cannot send you physical copies of books while you are abroad.

Connect to UVM Libraries subscription resources

BEFORE you begin your research .....

Click on the "Connect off campus" green button on the library home page at .

Then enter in your UVM Net ID and password, same as you do for your UVM Mail and BlackBoard.

This enables you to access and use  all the UVM Libraries electronic resources, such as journal article databases, the electronic journal collection, e-books, and streaming media collections.


 If you have the VPN (Cisco AnyConnect) installed on your computer,  FIRST log in to your VPN, and then you can use all the resources accessible from the UVM Library web page:
