Research Development offers a suite of services to support faculty efforts to obtain extramural funding for their research, scholarship, and creative activities. Services include: Pre-award grant writing expertise. Supports the development of non-technical content, including tools and resources to help streamline grant writing, for example proposal writing plans, checklists, templates, and timelines. Research Development can help providing specific answers in the grant proposal development phase.
SPA is a full-service research administration office committed to assisting faculty, staff, and sponsors navigate the lifecycle of a sponsored project. SPA provides institutional approval for all proposal submissions, accepts awards on behalf of UVM, and facilitates award administration, including financial reporting, sponsored audits, and cash management. UVM's Institutional Review Board is responsible for the review and oversight of programs supporting the institution’s conduct of safe and ethically sound scientific research involving human participants.
UVM Libraries provide support around the research process and scholarly communication. With regards to data management planning, the Libraries are the administrator of DMPTool and can can conduct instruction sessions about how to use it for individuals or groups. The Libraries can also provide general data management and data management planning support, along with assistance identifying repositories for data or publications.
