Fee service. Serves the entire University community, collaborating with researchers to conduct studies focusing on important medical, health, psychological, and social issues. Can help researchers conceptualize their studies from the beginning, provide assistance throughout the life cycle of studies, and analyze and interpret data at their conclusion. Funded by salary lines on grants or a fee-for-service model.

Free service that helps researchers and institutions to create, review, and share high-quality data management plans that meet institutional and funder requirements. DMPTool also compiles up-to-date funder requirements from large grant-awarding organizations and federal agencies.

Storing your data in a university-approved location ensures that your data is protected, backed up, and that you will have support in case of accidental deletion or other loss. Contact saa@uvm.edu for more details.

IRB: Humans, Animals, Biosafety. Conduct of safe and ethically sound scientific research involving human participants, vertebrate animals, and biohazards.

Funding support and management. Finding funding, writing proposals, preparing budgets, submitting proposals, accepting and managing awards, and closeouts.

Provides support to users of statistical software throughout the UVM community, as well as general statistical consulting. Assistance is provided in these areas (among others): software packages, data management, design and methodology, and interpretation of analyses.

Services for advanced computing. Also provide technical support and consulting services on a wide variety of issues ranging from data storage, software implementation and licensing, to research collaboration using advanced technologies.

Locally managed, open source software to collaborate on code. Manage git repositories with fine grained access controls that keep your code secure. Perform code reviews and enhance collaboration with merge requests. Each project can also have an issue tracker and a wiki.

Globus is a web-based data management tool that enables researchers to easily share and receive large data sets with collaborators from other institutions.

Qualtrics allows users to quickly create, distribute, and analyze surveys – from basic to very complex – with no previous experience and little time to learn.
