Statistical Consulting
Statistical Software Support and Consulting Services are available to students, postdocs, and researchers at UVM and affiliates of UVM. Topics include data management, experimental design, interpretation of results of analyses, and installation/licensing of statistical software packages.
GIS Consultations
Consultants are available to help with geographic information systems project design, the selection of appropriate datasets, and the selection and use of geo-processing tools, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Google Earth Engine.
Data Visualization Consultation and Resource Guide
Consultations are available to help with visualizing and presenting your data, by going over types of visuals to consider using, composition design, and data visualization tool support.
Data Management Guide
UVM Libraries offers consultations for creating data management plans, including advice for complying with federal mandates. The Data Research Management Librarian can advise on appropriate platforms for sharing research data and best practices for adhering to FAIR guidelines.

Systematic Review Service

"A systematic review attempts to identify, appraise, and synthesize all the empirical evidence that meets pre-specified eligibility criteria to answer a given research question. Researchers conducting systematic reviews use explicit methods aimed at minimizing bias, in order to produce more reliable findings that can be used to inform decision making."

Covidence
Covidence is a systematic review tool that researchers can use for title/abstract screening, full-text screening, data abstraction, and quality assessment. Covidence was designed by researchers familiar with the systematic review process in order to make conducting reviews more efficient.

Support for Publishing

Publish Your Research
If you are interested in publishing, librarians can offer support and knowledge of that process. This includes selecting a journal, identifying a target audience, considering the quality of the journal, meeting submission requirements, and more. Our Scholarly Communications Librarian is also available for consultation and didactic sessions about communicating research and impact.

ORCID iD at UVM
UVM has recently become a member organization of ORCID and has built a university integration to connect our institution with any researchers’ ORCID record/profile. Your ORCID iD is a sixteen-digit unique and persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher and ensures that your work is easily discoverable and accessible.

UVM ScholarWorks
UVM ScholarWorks collects, preserves, and shares the scholarly and creative works of University of Vermont faculty, staff, students, and their collaborators. It serves as the institutional repository of the University and promotes discovery and research by providing open access to a wide range of digital resources created by the UVM community.

Citation Management

Citation management (sometimes called reference management software or reference tools) allow users to curate their own collection of materials, organize them and then cite them in manuscripts or media. It is most useful for streamlining the process of writing a paper with properly formatted citations, but has many other benefits as well, such as having a place to put all of your PDFs of important journal articles.
