Finding Books

To locate books on your topic that the library owns, use either the Classic Library Catalog and search by guided keyword, or CatQuest, select Advanced Search, search Library Catalog, and search by keyword.   With both resources, remember the rules of effective keyword searching.

The most comprehensive resource for locating books is a database that UVM subscribes to, called WorldCat.

** Remember, if you would like to connect to WorldCat and/or other databases from off campus, you need to first click on the Connect from Off Campus link on the library home page, and use EZ Proxy, or enable your VPN client. **

When using WorldCat and other larger catalogs of books, use Interlibrary Loan to order materials of importance to you, that we do not own. First, make sure it is something that you really need.
