(The New Pauly, Encyclopedia of Antiquity) Larger than "Kleine Pauly" but smaller than the 68 volume original "Pauly," the New Pauly seeks to incorporate new findings and research methodologies in its interpretation of classical antiquity. Alphabetical entries of varying length with cross references, bibliography, drawings, and maps. Brill's New Pauly, an English translation still in progress, is shelved next to the German edition.
(Encyclopedia of Assyriology) A work in progress since 1932, RdA has become a multilingual publication, with the highest numbered volumes having the most recent research. Vol. 1 contains lengthy essays on Assyria and Babylon, but both were written in 1932, so an update must be found elsewhere.
