Q. I logged in and was using one of the library databases, but then a message popped up saying I had to log in again. Why?
A. Occasionally, the login connection between your computer and the library will get interrupted. When this happens, the system is no longer sure if you are authorized to use a library database (even if you’re still in it) and will ask you to log in again.
This should not happen frequently, however. If it does, email the library or call 802-656-2200 to report the problem.
Q. Why do I have to log into library resources?
A.Most of the library’s electronic resources are subscription-based. One of the stipulations of those subscription contracts is that we limit access to people who are connected to the university in some way, such as being a student. Logging in proves that you are authorized to use our resources.
Q. What is my UVM NetID?
A.Your UVM NetID is the same username and password that you use to get into other university resources such as your email. Please contact the
Information Technology department if you have questions about your NetID.
