Introduction to the Dana Health Sciences Library

Welcome!

Document Delivery and Interlibrary LoanServices

You can use our Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan services to get articles, book chapters or books sent to you free of charge.

Document Delivery is a service for UVM Affiliates that allows you to get articles and books from the Dana Health Sciences Library sent to you at your off-campus location. Place a request using the form below, and library staff will obtain the material requested and send it to you via postal mail or email.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that gets articles, books, etc. that UVM does not own from other libraries. For example, if you need an article and the library does not own the full text, you can submit an ILL request and we will get a copy of the article for you from another library. ILL requests take time to process and arrive, but they allow you to expand your research beyond just the UVM Libraries' collections.

Both services use the same form. So if you need an item and are unable to find full text access, fill out the request form and our library staff will assist you. The average turnaround time is two business days. Large requests, inaccurate or incomplete citations may result in the request taking longer. You may want to also ask a librarian to ensure that the item you are looking for isn’t available for immediate download.

To order an item, use the Request Articles/ILL button on our homepage.
