HCOL 186 F: Germany Since 1945: Memory and the Cold War (Spring 2021)

Welcome

Welcome to HCOL 186F. This guide is designed to help you identify research materials to use for your research projects. The guide is divided into five parts:

  • Three important research strategies
  • Using Library Catalogs to find both secondary monographs and book chapters as well as published primary sources
  • Using article databases to find scholarly historical research on Germany in the period since 1945
  • Using Historical Newspapers as a primary resource in historical research
  • Citing sources and using Chicago/Turabian style

If you need help with your projects later in the semester please contact me for a research appointment.

About Interlibrary Loan & Document Delivery

Before you start looking for materials register for the UVM Interlibrary Loan Service:

Interlibrary loan is a free service provided by the library that enables you to borrow books or get copies of articles from other libraries when UVM does not have that material in our collection. Document Delivery supplies scans of chapters from books or print journals in the UVM collection.
