Tips for Finding Books

Fiction - Use the advanced search feature of your chosen search tool and include the word fiction in the subject field of your search. This will limit your search to fiction but due to changes in cataloging over time may not find all fiction. You can add additional search terms to narrow your search further by theme, topic, or writer.
Literary Criticism - Use the advanced search feature of your chosen search tool and include the phrase criticism and interpretation in the subject field of your search. This will limit your search to books that are devoted to literacy criticism. You can add additional search terms to narrow your search further by theme, topic, or writer.
Works in Italian- Use the advanced search feature of your chosen search tool and look for the option to limit your results to a particular language. CATQuest and HathiTrust will let you add this option after you have started searching. Add additional search terms to your search to find what you are looking for.
Works in Translation - If you need a work by an Italian author in English you can add the words translated and italian to your search along with any other search terms.
