Grey literature is produced outside of academic and commercial publishers. It includes materials such as conference proceedings, occasional and working papers, policy papers and briefs, hearings, reports, and more.
Congressional Research Service (CRS). CRS serves as nonpartisan shared staff to congressional committees and Members of Congress. It operates solely at the behest of and under the direction of Congress. Information in a CRS Report should not be relied upon for purposes other than public understanding of information that has been provided by CRS to Members of Congress in connection with CRS’s institutional role. Their reports often summarize relevant policy discussions and research.

This resource has data holdings that encompass a range of academic disciplines, including political science, sociology, demography, history, economics, international relations, gerontology, public health, criminal justice, and education. Data collections consist of raw data files and code-books. Data sets can be downloaded directly to a user's computer for use with statistical software.
The Pew Research Center conducts numerous polls on US Politics and Policy, Social Trends, Media, and Global issues. They publish extensive reports and include detailed information on their methodology and researchers. They also provide users who register for a free account access to their datasets.
