Tips on Finding Periodicals from the 1980s

The 1980s is a time period that has very mixed coverage in electronic collections. There are some periodicals available online but you may want to use published indexes (in print or electronic form) to identify articles in older magazines. Recommended indexes for thus use are:

  • Reader's Guide to Periodical Literature - Howe Library Reference (1st Floor) ; (Z1219 .R48 )
  • Alternative Press Index - Howe Library Reference (1st Floor) ; (Z1231.A7 A27 )

Indexes will help you to identify specific articles within magazines. Once you have a citation you can look for the magazine in our collection.
