FTS 009: History of Television (Morgan Parmett) - Fall 2017

Find Television Programs - Overview

While you can use fee-based streaming media services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc. or YouTube to find (if lucky) individual episodes of television series, the Bailey/Howe Library has purchased many television series on dvd or through one of the library's licensed streaming media services (e.g., Kanopy Streaming Media). Below are three suggested ways to use the CATQuest Library Catalog to find them.

Once you find the dvd you need, note down the DVD number and go to the Media Services Desk (main/1st floor). Bring your UVM ID. Visit the Multimedia Services page for more information, including media circulation information. Click here to schedule/reserve a dvd.

If the series or episode is available through one of the library's streaming media collections, click on the hyperlinked title to access the video. IMPORTANT!!   Before you access CATQuest from the homepage, click on "Connect Off Campus" under the search box first, to log in to the UVM network, if you are accessing it from your computer off-campus.

If the library does not provide access to a television series on dvd or through a streaming media database, you can try to borrow it from another library through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). It's a free service offered by the library, but not all libraries will loan their dvds. Questions? Contact ILL.
