Why use this resource? Social Explorer can be used to explore U.S. census data visually on a map as well as in report form to compare information from different censuses or geographic areas. Maps and reports can be exported and saved for future use.
Using the find tool, users can search for a specific address, city, town, zip code, and other places, or use the Federal Information Processing Standards Codes (FIPS codes) to locate an area on the map.
What's in this resource? Data from the US census from 1790-2000, the America Community Survey (ACS), and the Religious Congregations and Membership Study (RCMS) from 1980 to 2000, a total of 40 billion data elements, 335,000 variables, and over 18,000 interactive maps.
