Articles

Finding articles is a two-step process.

1) Identify articles on your topic and find citations using an article database (sometimes called an index).

2) Locate articles online or in print. Some databases include the full-text but others do not.

The following are recommended article databases for locating articles:

Social Services Abstracts This link opens in a new window
Covers a wide variety of topics including: addiction; crisis intervention; violence, abuse, and neglect; and the family. Coverage: 1980 - present.
PsycINFO This link opens in a new window
This index is used to find citations and abstracts to journal articles, book chapters and dissertations in psychology and related fields from 1872 to present. PsycINFO is fundamental to research in counseling, as the resource covers more than 1,500 journals thoroughly and indexes almost 1,000 additional titles selectively
Social Sciences Full Text This link opens in a new window
Index to topics relating to anthropology, sociology, psychology, geography, and more.
Coverage: 1994 - present.
