Need information about a person?

Click the tabs above to see lists of credible biographical information sources (both print and electronic) made available by Bailey/Howe Library.

This guide does not list general sources that also include biographical entries. Please see the box below to find those.

The Icon icon indicates a licensed database that can be accessed outside the library only by UVM affiliates (see  instructions at left). All users, including those not affiliated with UVM, may use these resources from a computer within the library.

Can't find the person in the sources listed here?

Try these two options:

1.  Consult a subject-specific encyclopedia. They often have entries about people. Ask a librarian to recommend an encyclopedia, or find one by performing a "Guided Keyword Search" in the Classic Library Catalog.

For example:

2.  Search for an individual biography of the person. Perform a "Guided Keyword Search" in the Classic Library Catalog.
